Jasper Sebastian Stürup

I am really digging this guy,  Jasper Sebastian Stürup, that I found on the Drawing Center's Viewing Program. I'm starting to mess around with ink washes, ink splotches... These are a little Rorschach for my taste. Which is a good thing, because that means I won't try to directly copy him. I think I'm going to mask off some of my paper, use some gel medium under/with the ink. I don't know, I really just need to get to the studio to figure it out. stumbling

I love stumbling. I stay up super late stumbling. Stumbling makes my headaches stop. Stumbling also makes my stomach stop hurting. When I stumble I feel at peace. The last five sentences are probably all exaggerations, but I'm just trying to make a point.

Seriously I have discovered some of the greatest shit ever since I made a stumble account. I posted the link so you (who am I even speaking to, no one will read this) can do the same. Then we can become friends on stumble and share all the glorious random crap we find. StumbleUpon has more than 8,453,000 members as of October 11, 2009. I only have one friend on Stumble though, my boyfriend. I am sure many of my other friends (you?) have a stumble account as well. Can we be friends? I will share with you! Like the old camp song 'if you don't, I won't, scratch your back, but if you do, I swear, I'll cheer for you' with all the spirited camp-ness infliction I could muster at 1:14 am.

I just wanted to make a post sharing my love for stumble. I already wasted insane hours on facebook playing mafia wars and tagging myself in other peoples' photos. But now I've found something 'useful'. It's more useful than watching the entire series of Law and Order, and all its subsets. That's useful too though. I know all the rape laws now. And I know that Olivia's dad was the man who raped her mom. Also, Detective Goran is prone to schizophrenia.

Bjørn Hegardt

So, I guess you could say he's my 'favorite' artist right now. Besides myself. Whatever that means.

If you're not familiar with Hegardt's work I'd get familiar with it. Now! My sister, Margot, game me the third issue of the magazine for contemporary drawing, Fukt, that he edits. It's an amazing publication. You can buy it on Amazon, or probably through a million other retailers. You can buy it for me there too!
